Oran Kivity, British acupuncturist, began his studies in acupuncture in 1987.
Having graduated from a TCM college in the United Kingdom, he initially dedicated himself to the traditional approach.
However, after a decade of practice, he decided to begin deepening his knowledge and specializing in Japanese methods.
During the 2000s, Kivity was a founding member of Toyohari UK, the British branch of the Toyohari Association of Japan. In addition, he taught acupuncture at the University of Westminster, London, between 1994 and 2004, as a teaching assistant to Stephen Birch, one of the leading figures in acupuncture in Europe and Southeast Asia.
In 2005, he moved to Malaysia, continuing his practices and teachings.
With experience spanning Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Croatia, Israel, USA and Brazil, Kivity has consolidated its approach to Japanese acupuncture, excelling in practice and teaching.
Innovation: Wenzhu Therapy and Ontake Method
Kivity developed the therapy, Wenzhu, based on Japanese concepts.
The technique uses rhythmic methods to activate and balance the flow of energy throughout the body, providing a unique and effective approach.
One of his notable contributions is "Ontake Warm Bamboo," a unique moxibustion technique. It consists of a piece of bamboo filled with moxa wool, heated and applied to the skin for massage. This international healing award-winning approach incorporates rhythm and pressure, offering a relaxing and innovative treatment.
Publications and Recognition
Founder of Sayoshi Books, Kivity is the author of four books on the unique therapy.
"Moxa in Motion" and "Hirata Zone Therapy" have received praise and recognition in globally recognized acupuncture journals, including the Journal of Chinese Medicine and the North American Journal of Oriental Medicine.
Currently conducting in Taiwan since 2020, Kivity continues to practice, write and teach.
His passion for Japanese acupuncture remains evident in his gentle approach, providing not only healing but also a unique journey of knowledge.
