Ana Sofia Pacheco

Ana Sofia Pacheco is an Acupuncture Specialist (IPLuso, 2023) and has been dedicated to teaching and clinical practice for more than twenty years.

Between 2021 and 2023, she was part of the teaching staff of the Acupuncture program at IPLuso, where she taught Taiji and Qigong, having previously taught the same subject at the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal (2018–2021). She completed her Master’s degree in Exercise and Well‑Being at Universidade Lusófona (2019–2022), deepening her research in the fields of movement and health.

Her path began at ESMTC in Lisbon (1998–2003), where she studied Traditional Chinese Medicine and completed a clinical internship in Nanjing, People’s Republic of China. She began practicing in 2000 and has maintained continuous clinical activity ever since.

In 2005, she began her training in Toyohari Japanese Acupuncture in Amsterdam, later completing the Advanced Course (2011–2013), with research focused on tongue evolution throughout treatments.

The demanding nature of this approach led her to participate regularly in international meetings across Europe and Japan (since 2006), and she also organized two international Toyohari gatherings in Lisbon (2014 and 2017).

Throughout her career, she has spoken at several conferences, resulting in a scientific article. She complements her training with ongoing studies in Qigong, Biomagnetism, Macrobiotics, and various Japanese Acupuncture approaches, including Kiiko Matsumoto Style, Manaka, Meridian Therapy, Shonishin, and Japanese Moxibustion. She has practiced kungfu since 1996, integrating movement as an essential part of her therapeutic vision.

Her path brings together technical rigor, research, consistent clinical practice, and a deep dedication to teaching and to the evolution of Oriental therapeutic arts.
